Every generation underwent and endured it. The conflict between physical being and inner being, though eternal, appears more pronounced now then ever. Acquiring wealth and the perks that go with it appears to be the only aim in life. This has lead to constant conflict of mind and the body. Money is very important but how much of it should be accrued is the problem. A person who strived all his life to reach the top found later that there was no such thing as top. Moreover, it was unbearably lonely. Money is necessary for fulfilment of basic needs but unless desires are restrained and means to earn money is justified, the purpose of accruing wealth is defeated. Wise forefathers, after constant observation, called it Dharma. With every action of ours having direct and indirect effect on others, a code of conduct to strictly adhere is mandatory. Development in this world should be constant, natural and gradual. Like a seed after several stages becomes a tree that can produce seeds again, the growth should be constant, gradual and without conflict.
Development of science and technology has infused confidence to human being, puffing his ego and think that he is the Master of everything he purveys. He forgets that he is just part of the universe, a minority and yet he feels the lord of the nature. That in essence is the crux of the deterioration of quality of life, both his and others.
