Samskriti Foundation has undertaken many important pioneering tasks that are aimed at preservation and propagation of important subjects that are associated with Indian culture and heritage. Nowadays, it is extremely difficult to get teachers / instructors who are well-versed in topics connected with Indian culture and also have the time to impart education to interested persons. To overcome this lacuna, the Foundation has come out with a series of self-teaching, interactive Multimedia programs that are aimed at replacing the teacher and helping the student learn at his own pace and at his own location, without any constraints. The following are the presently ready packages, which will shortly be available for the public to use:

Self teaching program for Grantha script

India has a wealth of palm leaf and other types of manuscripts that are written in different ancient scripts that are not known to even scholars of today. The Grantha script was one such most important and widely used script that also has esoteric significance. Since very few people who know this script are available today, there is a great danger of manuscripts written in this script being lost to the country for posterity. To overcome this problem, a self-teaching, interactive Multimedia program has been developed, that also has interactive exercises to gauge the knowledge the user has gained by using the program. This is a unique and pioneering contribution of the Samskriti Foundation in the preservation and propagation of our cultural heritage.

Self teaching program for Sharada script

What Grantha script was to South India, the Sharada script is to North India. Most of the palm leaf and other manuscripts of South India have been authored in an ancient script known as 'Sharada' said to be an esoteric representation of Goddess Saraswathi. Today, it is said that there are less than 25 people in the whole of India, who are well versed in reading / writing this script. Therefore, there is a great danger of manuscripts written in this script being lost to the country for posterity. To overcome this problem, a self-teaching, interactive Multimedia program has been developed to teach Sharada script that also has interactive exercises to gauge the knowledge the user has gained by using the program.

Self teaching program for Pancha Suktham

The Vedas form the bedrock of Indian culture, heritage and civilization. Indian culture is referred to as 'Vedic Culture' by scholars from throughout the world from time immemorial. It is the duty of every Indian (who has been instructed to do so) to learn and memorize the text of the Vedas and also chant the same. However, since the text of Vedas forms a huge amount of literature, it is very difficult for persons today to learn the entire text. Therefore it is very important that they learn and memorize at least the most important and basic texts of the Vedas from qualified teachers. The present package is once again, an interactive Multimedia program that helps a person learn the 'Pancha- Suktam', a set of five prayers to Lord Vishnu and His consorts, as well as the Narayana Upanishad, which is said to be the essence of the entire Vedic literature. Detailed exposition of the mantras are also given for proper understanding.

Self teaching program for Sandhyavandanam

Sandhya-vandanam is to be performed by all persons (who has been instructed to do so) thrice a day and involves the repeated chanting of the divine 'Gayatri' mantra. It involves not only proper chanting of the prescribed mantras, but also certain rituals involving mudras, bandhas (bodily and mental postures) and so on that are to be performed as per procedures to obtain the desired results.that are to be performed as per procedures to obtain the desired results To help persons who do not have human instructors to properly teach this most important ritual, this interactive multimedia program, that also explains the significance of each ritual involved, has been developed.
